Biography

SicNis {an acronym for Succeed-In(g) Impossible Circumstances Needs Intellectual Strength} is a confident and energetic MC/ Lyricist; Song-writer; Events/Radio Host; Mentor, and, aspiring author, sound engineer and producer, who has performed throughout the UK and Europe. Covering a multitude of genres, Sic'Nis combines the art of witty, thought provoking story-telling with a plethora of uniquely thrilling, captivating flows.

2020 got off to a flying start, in February, Sic'Nis - who writes (and co-produces) her material - supported American Hip-Hop artist Eternal of the Wu Killa Bees at his 5 date 5 city UK tour. She also co-created the 'I Am Woman' UK Tour in conjunction with singer/songwriter and local entrepreneur Kiani for International Women's Week. The 3 city (Birmingham/London/Manchester) all female tour featured 2 headline acts from the USA 'Vixen Noir' & Gwen Yvette as well as Adantè (Birmingham) & Therry Jay (London).
As Sic'Nis was meticulously rehearsing for her first performance in the USA, the pandemic hit and the world ground to a halt. Using this time to regroup, she released 'The B Side EP', a collection of previously unheard songs with the feel good factor  for her fans (April 2020). Following that up with her third EP, 'Peepin' Thru My Window', on November 6th 2020. The concept EP is receiving support from numerous outlets including BBC Introducing who have described Sic'Nis as being "ridiculously good". She was also a 'Best Dancehall' Act' nominee in the 2020 Birmingham Music Awards.



Sic'Nis won a sponsorship package from 'Shure' as second prize after competing in a four heat "battle" in various cities in Germany. The final took place at Festsaal Kreuzberg in Berlin.
Some of 2019's highlights included: performing at the Liverpool Sound City Festival; 'Best Female Hip Hop' nominee in the Birmingham Music Awards;
Supporting both The GZA & Ghostface Killah [of multi-platinum Hip-Hop band, Wu Tang Clan] at their respective concerts; support act for Legendary Soul Singer 'Sunshine Anderson' - alongside UK Legend 'Terri Walker' - in Birmingham; performed at the launch of the 'Wu Tang Clan 25th Anniversary Tour photo exhibition curated by Simon Peter Green, BA at Coventry Market, and, hosted the 'Aspire 4u' stage for upcoming artists at Birmingham's Simmer Down Festival.

Sic'Nis has twelve years plus experience in radio presenting/program production and is extremely passionate about young people and for good causes, regularly donating her time and efforts into fundraising and mentoring. Sic'nis launched a new live  podcast 'Inhale with Sic'Nis' in 2021.

Although primarily a solo artist, Sic'Nis regularly performs with one of her dearest friends - singer/song-writer and vocal coach - Adantè, together they make powerfully inspiring music to uplift/inspire. By popular demand, the duo are finally prepping a collaborative project '...Yet Untitled' to be released under the moniker 'AS'

Currently in the second year of the BA (Hons) Music Technology and Popular Music at the University of Wolverhampton, Sic'Nis' future is neon bright.
